Question 1

What is the paid weekly letter?

Accepted Answer

The paid letter is Marginalia’s full weekly research packet: two deeply researched business picks with demand proof, unit economics back-solved from $1M ARR, comparable exits, source citations, Confidence Margin scores, and named falsification targets. The free preview shows the format; the paid packet adds the complete issue and second pick.

Question 2

How does the searchable archive work?

Accepted Answer

The public archive is the index of Marginalia’s published picks and issues. Search titles, summaries, and research text, then filter by vertical, stage or channel, and Confidence Margin band. The archive helps you find the evidence trail; the full paid issue remains the subscription boundary.

Question 3

How does Marginalia use research evidence?

Accepted Answer

Claims are tied to dated, retrievable sources rather than a persuasive anecdote alone. Each pick separates demand proof, unit economics, and comparable exits, then names the assumptions that could falsify the thesis. Read the methodology for the rubric and open a published pick to inspect its source disclosure.

Question 4

What do Confidence Margin scores mean?

Accepted Answer

Confidence Margin is a qualitative band—low, medium, or high—that summarizes how much published evidence supports a pick after accounting for its risk ceiling. It is not a promise of success or a hidden 0–100 score: the basis explains which evidence supports the band, what remains thin, and what would move the call up or down.

Question 5

What are the previews, and where can I read them?

Accepted Answer

The preview is the free sample of Marginalia’s weekly format: one sourced and scored idea, published openly so you can judge the depth before subscribing. Start with the current preview, or open the dedicated Issue 001 preview route when you want the sample issue’s permanent page.

Question 6

How does subscription access work?

Accepted Answer

The paid-access boundary is the complete weekly packet. The preview and public archive remain available to everyone; the subscription plans describe the full Friday issue and subscriber benefits. Choose monthly or annual on the pricing page, then use its hosted checkout when payments are enabled. Marginalia does not promise a separate account or access flow here—the pricing and checkout pages are the source of truth for the purchase journey.
